What started out as a series on the Web, Insecure has blossomed into one of the most acclaimed series currently on television. Created, produced and starring Issa Rae, the show explores the lives of two African-American female millennials. Though the premise is nothing extraordinary, Rae’s overall body of work makes it honest enough without being over-the-top.
