1. Ramones
There really is not just one word to describe the influence and legacy the Ramones had on punk rock. Some will say this group invented it, or at the very least, defined it. Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and Tommy, along with the others that followed, are truly one of a kind. From the leather jackets and jeans to the 1-2-3-4 count-off, to the 2 a half minutes of hard-charging, three-chord fun, the Ramones are punk gods and no one else should be considered as coming close.
