Transitioning To Journalism

As a sophomore in high school, a written aptitude test revealed that Kelly should be a journalist. Though she was denied from Syracuse’s Newhouse School of Communication, the thirst to be in the field never faded. In 2003, Kelly moved from Chicago to Washington D.C. An ABC Affiliate had hired her to be a general assignment reporter. This set the stage for a move to a higher-profile gig.
