A week after her controversial comments, NBC decided to relieve Kelly of her duties as the host of a talk show. She then figured she’d transition into being more of a correspondent for news rather than someone dabbling in both news and pop culture. In January of 2019, NBC officially severed ties with Kelly in all matters. Though she lost her job, she didn’t come away empty handed.
