Kelly was born on November 18, 1970 in Champaign, Illinois. Her parents Linda and Edward raised Kelly primarily in the state of New York – first in Syracuse, and then in a suburb of Albany. Growing up in a strict Catholic upbringing, Kelly was very dedicated to her studies. This was largely motivated by her father’s profession.
