A bright and curious child from a very young age, Trebek attended Sudbury High School, and then went on to attend the University of Ottawa. To help pay for his tuition, Alex started working part-time at the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC). He graduated in 1961 with a degree in philosophy.
