During a July 2018 interview, Trebek suggested that the end of the line was fast approaching. He revealed that the chances of him returning to host Jeopardy! after the end of his contract in 2020 were 50/50. He also named two possible replacements: Los Angeles Kings play-by-play announcer Alex Faust, and radio host/author/legal professor Laura Coates.
