Trebek has been known for his philanthropic efforts – particularly where the environment is concerned. In 1998, Trebek donated 74 acres of open land to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. He is also an active volunteer and spokesman for organizations such as World Vision and Smile Train, which help improve the lives of impoverished children around the world.
