CBS hired O’Reilly to cover the various conflicts occurring overseas. However, a dispute over footage caused O’Reilly to leave. He bounced back quite nicely with ABC News a few years later. An ABC executive heard O’Reilly give a eulogy at the funeral of a deceased network employee. This compelled the network to hire O’Reilly as a deliverer of news.
