12. The Merger (Season 3, Episode 8)
“I’ll be the number two guy here in Scranton in six weeks. How? Name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.”
Being that The Office began its run with the Scranton employees already somewhat used to Michael?s personality and hijinks, “The Merger” served as an excellent outlet for pitting Michael against Dunder-Mifflin workers not accustomed to his unique brand of management. Jim and Pam also reunite in this episode, but are wedged apart by the presence of Karen Filippelli. Additionally, Dwight and Andy immediately form a heated rivalry.
