18. The Golden Girls
A two-time winner of the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, The Golden Girls proved that comedy and actresses get better with age. Bea Arthur (Dorothy), Rue McClanahan (Blanche), Betty White (Rose) and Estelle Getty (Sophia) ruled the primetime roost for seven seasons in the late 1980s and into the early 1990s. They’re smart, sassy and even sexy in their own way, which made for an ideal recipe of comedy.
