King Goes National

Following a short stint as the color commentator for the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, King entered the realm of national radio in 1978. He took over for a talk show previously ran by Herb Jepko and ‘Long John’ Nebel, and quickly built a strong audience. It was around this time that King began getting noticed by the bigger television companies. The exposure led to his ultimate gig.
