Howland Out Of Nowhere
When Ned Stark went to rescue his sister Lyanna from the Tower of Joy, a man named Howland Reed went with him. After the infamous battle and Ned’s discovery that Lyanna had given birth to Jon, Howland Reed was one-of-two people that knew Jon’s true identity. So, when Meera and Jojen Reed — Howland’s kids — appeared in Season 3, fans anticipated Howland’s arrival on the show. Unfortunately, Howland doesn’t make an appearance until the series finale. Joining the counsel who deemed Bran King. Howland doesn’t even get a formal introduction. Instead, it was left to the viewers to decipher his identity. Why wasn’t Howland around to help the North in battle? Why did he only show up once the war was over? Please, someone, explain.
