Mere years removed from being one of the most loved figures in sports, Seau became nearly unrecognizable. On May 2, 2012, Junior Seau took his own life. The man who had once been a god-like figure was destroyed by a crippling brain disease. Like Duerson, Seau died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. Less than a year later, doctors concluded that Seau was suffering from CTE at the time of his death.
