Tragedies Piling Up

For many years, Seau would keep a journal to pen his thoughts. As the years wore on, his entries became more and more tragic. Confused and lost, Seau was searching for answers. On February 21, 2011, former Chicago Bears great Dave Duerson committed suicide. Dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, Duerson penned a suicide note stating his belief that his brain had been irreparably damaged by football – and pleaded that his brain be studied. Of the first 95 former NFL players studied, 94 had CTE.
