Seau came into this world on January 19, 1969. The fourth boy, and youngest of five children overall, of Tiaina Seau Sr. and Luisa Mauga Seau, Junior had a very unique upbringing. Shortly after his birth, his family returned to American Samoa – where the family had roots – and remained there for a few years. When the family returned to San Diego, Seau still struggled to speak English. In fact, he didn’t learn the language until he was seven years old.
