A polarizing figure within the industry, Brooks is most well-known for combining the classic country sound with 90s pop melodies. While many devout country fans don’t prefer Brooks’ unique style, he is undoubtedly seen as a visionary within the country-pop crossover genre. Brooks’ worldwide success speaks for itself. To this day, Brooks is the only musical artist in history to achieve diamond status on seven different albums – surpassing the record of six previously held by The Beatles. The Oklahoma native was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012.
