Growing up, Janis Joplin was actually bullied for her voice and appearance. Lucky for us, she didn’t let it stop her from rising up and becoming one of the most iconic female vocalists to ever live. Janis unfortunately died from a heroin overdose at the age of 27, leaving us with her soulful, raspy howls.
