8. Social Distortion

The band has always been singer/guitarist Mike Ness’ baby, but more like a labor of love. One of the more autobiographical bands on the punk scene, Social D’s songs tend to deal with Ness’ life. Whether it be his history of addiction, lost loves or overall hardships, Ness’ material continues to entertain. The band’s cover of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” is a concert staple, along with punk rock classics “Ball and Chain” and “Story of My Life.”
