11. Rancid

Heavily influenced by Operation Ivy, these East Bay punks began as a hardcore band but became more polished in the ’90s. Led by the guitarists and principal songwriters Tim Armstrong and Lars Frederiksen, Rancid enjoyed some mainstream success with 1994’s “Lets Go” and truly took off with “And Out Come the Wolves” the next year. The latter was a big reason for the huge pop punk movement of the time.
