13. Minor Threat
One of the most underrated punk scenes in the history of the genre came out of the U.S. capital area. Minor Threat was a big part of that in the early 1980s. The band was together for fewer than five years, but its work in the ‘straight edge’ sound is important in the history of punk. Minor Threat t-shirts are also quite popular as vintage wear – which is so not punk.
