15. Hüsker Dü
Though Hüsker Dü turned into more of an alternative rock band in its later years, it started out as a true hardcore outfit. The Twin Cities three-piece comprised of the great Bob Mould, late Grant Hart and Greg Norton were a major influence on many an alternative/indie/punk band like the Pixies and Nirvana. “Sorry Somehow” from 1986’s Candy Apple Grey is one of the band’s best, combining a touch of punk with some indie/alternative cred.
