20. New Edition
Of course, we’d be remiss if we don’t mention one of the hottest pop bands from the ’80s. We’ll opt to call New Edition a pop band despite elements of R&B intertwined within their musical construct. New Edition was a group chock-full of energy “Candy Girl” quickly became a hit worldwide. The most noteworthy member of the crew was Bobby Brown (who later went on to marry Whitney Houston).
