Considered the inventor of the slap technique of playing bass, Graham opened a door to a new way of the playing the instrument. Thus, making that form a staple among funk, soul and R&B bands. Graham was a key piece of the legendary Sly and the Family Stone, and also fronted his own Graham Central Station during a career that’s still going.
