Clarke continues to do it all during an exceptional career – jazz, funk, rock, pop and R&B. Though praised mostly for his work in the jazz field, Clarke also strut his stuff on the rock side, most notably in the late 1970s with Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards in the New Barbarians. He’s known for playing his instrument more like an upright bass, and has a knack for giving his guitar an almost percussive sound. The multiple-Grammy winner has also scored for television and film, including Pee-Wee’s Playhouse.
