The Influence of John Reid
In 1970, Elton became romantically involved with a man named John Reid. A native of Scotland, Reid met Elton when he was 21 years of age. The two dated for five years — though Reid’s involvement went beyond dating. For 28 years, he was also Elton’s manager.
