2001 — Is This It — The Strokes
A little punk, little pop, some new wave and plenty of rock. That about sums up the Strokes’ stellar debut. At the time, The Guardian said the record is “probably the most important rock album of the past 10 years.” Julian Casablancas” unique voice fits well while no two tracks sound the same. “Last Nite” was a hit, but “Someday,” with a bit of rockabilly flare, is perhaps the Stokes’ best work overall.
