‘The Boss’ wasn’t totally happy with America at this point. He’s agitated and wants to vent. That’s essentially the gist of his first studio release in three years. Opening with the aggressive “We Take Care of Our Own” to the Cash-like “Jack Of All Trades” to “Land of Hope and Dreams,” Springsteen calls out, cajoles and consoles as good as he ever has in his career.
