If you didn’t get a chance to see Searching in theaters, then you had to have at least heard about it. The thriller took in $75 million on a $1 million budget and even nabbed star John Cho an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. The story is simple as it follows Cho as a father who is searching for his missing teenage daughter, but its impact is much greater. In addition to its financial and critical success, the movie is also the first mainstream Hollywood thriller to be headlined by an Asian-American actor.
