18. J. Edgar, “J. Edgar Hoover” (2011)
Watching DiCaprio play the controversial FBI director can be uncomfortable at times. But he certainly put his heart into the role, complete with plenty of makeup to age his character. In the end, DiCaprio comes through in grand fashion on the Clint Eastwood picture that earned the actor a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal.
