Sammie was an anniversary present given to Barbra by her husband, James Brolin. James had picked Sammie out from a litter based upon her curly hair (no other dog had that look). Many asked why Barbra wouldn’t adopt another dog after Sammie had passed. Simply put, Barbra couldn’t find a dog within Sammie’s breed with curly hair. She was one-of-a-kind.
