He had a dog available for adoption. As it turned out, this dog was a distant relative of Sammie’s. With how much Barbra had missed Sammie after her passing, Barbra immediately adopted the puppy. She named her ‘Fanny’, paying homage to one of Barbra’s most famous roles in the film, Funny Girl. From there, it then became a question as to what she’d name her other cloned puppies.
